21 Great People

Great People and I

Great people have played an important role in our lives. It is due to their work

and ideas that we are what we are today. They have enriched our life with their
thinking and work. We should feel indebted to them.

Buddha

Siddhartha was the prince of
Kapilvastu. One day, he was sitting

near the pond. The swans were flying

about. He was enjoying the natural

scenery. His cousin, Devdutt too was
playing nearby. He was playing with a

bow and arrow.

All of a sudden, Siddhartha saw that an

arrow flew into the air and hit a swan.

The swan was wounded, it fell on the

ground. Siddhartha ran and picked it up. He pressed its wound so
the blood would stop.

Just then, Devdutt came there. He said, “This is my swan. Give it to

me.”

“It is in my hands, how can it be yours?” replied Siddhartha.
