Christmas
Christmas is celebrated on
25 December each year. It
is an important festival of
the Christians. It marks the
birthday of Jesus Christ.
The churches are tastefully
decorated. People wear
new clothes and sing
Christmas carols. They
exchange gifts and greet
one another. They also
decorate the Christmas
Tree at home. Many people wear the dress of Santa Claus and give
gifts to children.
Gurupurab
Gurupurab is celebrated
to mark the birthdays of
the ten Sikh Gurus. It is
an important festival of
the Sikhs. They sing
hymns from their holy
book, the Guru Granth
Sahib . They also eat in the
community kitchen called
Langar . A procession is
also taken out around the
town.
