Storage of Water

In houses, water is stored in
overhead water tanks, buckets and

pitchers. In many villages, water is

stored in ponds. In rain-harvesting,

rainwater is stored in underground
tanks or borehole for later use.

Clean Water

When we use water, it becomes dirty. The nature cleans this water

for reuse. But the nature’s capacity to clean water is limited. At

present, we are dirtying more water than the nature can clean, so
we have to clean water. If we drink dirty water, we can fall ill. We

can get clean water in these ways :

u Use as little water as possible.

u Turn off the water tap when not in use.

u Use water filter or boil water to clean.

u Store water in a covered pot.
